The journey.
At the age of nineteen, my young heart was restless; filled with chaos, questions and doubt. I had just lost my mother to cancer. While others my age were focusing on their future endeavors, I was needlessly trying to hold onto a memory.
I had been raised in a Christian household, however, the loss of my mother led me to realize that my faith resided more within the power of her faith, than within my own beliefs. I felt the need for an adventure, a self-discovery. Having always been a bit of a free spirit, I set foot on a journey.
The Inspiration.
Walking through our natural world, I longed for truth. My desire was to gaze upon God’s creation with new eyes. I followed the patterns of nature, the phases of the moon, the changes of the seasons. I studied the practice of herbalism and aromatherapy, crafting my own home and healthcare products. I traveled west to the peaks of mountains, south to the shores of the ocean, north to the woods of the forest. Shyly, I began to talk to our Heavenly Father once more. I couldn’t deny His handiwork. His Spirit comforted me. It felt as if He wrapped His arms around me with every sunrise of a new day and whispered “sweet dreams” through the twinkling of stars.
This led me to pick up my mother’s Bible. Through my study of the Word, I became inspired. I started to consider Jesus. He was a free spirit too. He walked along beaches and mountainsides; He prayed in gardens, healed the sick, celebrated weddings, and wept in the aftermath of death. He wasn’t afraid to challenge social standards, but most importantly He loved. He loved better than anyone. I wanted to know Him, to be like Him.
I have since dedicated my life to Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Through the power of His hand Bohemian Remedy was born. The definition of Bohemian is to be socially unconventional in an artistic way, while the definition of Remedy is to set an undesirable situation right. Through the unconventional artistry of His work, Jesus Christ has set my life right. He is my Bohemian Remedy.
The mission.
Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30 (NIV)
True wellness derives from the love of God. The mission of Bohemian Remedy is to share the love of God through the products created, and the ways in which media is conducted. Bohemian Remedy strives to inspire hope, beauty and healing within the world.
