Lemon Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup of Butter

  • 1/4 Cup of Sugar

  • 2 Eggs

  • 1 2/3 Cup Flour; sifted

  • 1 Teaspoon of Baking Powder

  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Salt

  • 1/2 Cup of milk

  • Juice and Zest of 1 Lemon

instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees; Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan

  • Cream together butter with 1 cup of sugar; add eggs

  • Sift dry ingredients (flour, baking powder and salt) together in a separate bowl

  • Add dry ingredients to butter mixture alternating with milk

  • Stir in lemon zest

  • place batter in loaf pan; bake for 50-60 minutes

  • Mix remaining sugar with lemon juice for a glaze; once bread is finished baking poke holes in the top with a TOOTHPICK and drizzle glaze over the bread while it is still warm

Options for use: Once cooled, enjoy immediately, store in airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to six months.
