Rest, You Have Enough Time.

I have been reminiscing lately. Thinking about the years that have gone by. There is something so whimsical about how in one moment you can feel as if no time has passed at all, and how at that same exact moment, you feel completely different because so much time has passed. Time is quite peculiar, isn’t it?

I find it fascinating that our Heavenly Father is not bound to time. I also find it fascinating that we were originally created like that too. It is through sin that humanity became bound to time. God couldn’t allow us to live forever with the knowledge and the ability to practice evil. For more on that, read through Genesis 3.

Our Heavenly Father did, however, make a way for us to return to eternity. That is through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, His Son. The bible says,

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not parish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 NLT)

No longer are we needing to worry about “if we are keeping in time” with others or if our “time will run out”. Through Jesus we have eternal time. We can slow down, we can rest. Jesus said,

“Come to me all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” (Mathew 11:28 NLT)

I know that we live in a world that is fast paced and over stimulated. It can be hard to envision a realm that isn’t bound to time. Or even a day that isn’t. I ask you to slow down. To rest in the present. Recognize that time is of no consequence to your Heavenly Father. You are exactly where you are right now. You cannot get ahead, and you have not fallen behind. You are enough. Jesus will meet you here if you ask Him too. Take a moment; rest, you have enough time.
